The Heartwood media console is constructed using premium hardwoods, such as American black cherry, rock maple, and black walnut, sustainably harvested from forests in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. The Heartwood media console is bench-crafted by Vermont artisans using timeless techniques, such as mortise and tenon joinery, English dovetail drawer construction, and hand sanding. Mortise-and-Tenon Joinery

Mortise-and-tenon joinery has been used for thousands of years to join two pieces of wood at a 90 degree angle. This technique produces joinery that are both neat and strong, while hiding the joints within the timber.

Dovetail Drawer Construction

Vermont Furniture Designs constructs its drawer boxes using solid wood with traditional English dovetail joinery. This technique is simple, beautiful, and time-tested.

Beautiful Continuous Wood Grain

Vermont Furniture Designs uses a single board when constructing drawers on the same level, so there is a continuous, beautiful wood grain across the entire piece.
