McKinnon Furniture

All Makers

Founded in 1989 in Seattle by original owners Sheila McKinnon and Theresa Schneider, McKinnon’s mission is to create timeless furniture that is focused on simplicity and meticulous craftsmanship. In June 2014, husband and wife team Gary and Susan Strand, who aim to carry-on the tradition of excellence.

McKinnon sources hardwoods that are certified or sustainable in the U.S. -- such as cherry, ribbon mahogany, eastern maple and walnut – and take great care in selecting woods to match similar grains and color. The pieces are then assembled using the age-old technique of mortise and tenon joinery and are methodically finished using only non-toxic materials.

All of McKinnon’s pieces are custom made to order and proudly signed by the individual craftsperson. While many of their designs are inspired by Shaker, Arts and Crafts, Asian and contemporary styles, they also welcome the opportunity to create a piece specifically to suit their customers needs. In addition, each piece carries a lifetime warranty and may be shipped anywhere in the world – evidence of their steadfast commitment to outstanding customer service.
