Homespun Design offers goods ‘built to last’

MILL VALLEY, Calif. — A former executive of online home furnishings giant Wayfair.com has launched Homespun Design, focusing solely on U.S.-made furniture that’s built to last.
Joe Noonan, founder and CEO of the new business and former senior director of Wayfair’s international business, contended that while the online space continues to grow, it “didn’t have a site dedicated to the types of elegant items we offer — until now.”
In a release, he said the company’s mission “is to introduce online shoppers to well-crafted furniture that won’t be found at garage sales in five years or littering landfills a decade from now.”
He said the site features hand-made, heirloom-quality items from U.S. manufacturers in styles including Shaker, traditional, farmhouse, mid-century modern and contemporary. Homespun Design has started with an assortment of more than 200 items, primarily large dining room, bedroom and living room case pieces, but plans to add smaller items, including home accents.
